I liked it for a good range of useful words for a roughly kindergarten child, enough pictures to prompt and build confidence but enough unprompted words as well.

Flight of the Butterflies is a very enjoyable and educational short book about the life cycle of the Monarch butterfly. The book is intended for children in the lower grades who are already reading on their own, but as an adult, I found the material to be very interesting, too. The migration of the Monarchs is an amazing story, especially considering that it takes several generations of butterflies to complete one migration cycle. The color photography is quite good and complements the text perfectly. It’s a fascinating story that children should enjoy, as well as being a great tool for learning about the natural world.
